For the third year in a row, the trade publication Site Selection has named Sioux City as the small-size metro area with the most economic development projects.

Sioux City had 26 new or expanded corporate facilities in the category for metros with populations between 50,000 and 200,000 in 2017. That doubled up double the three metros who tied for second place with 13 qualifying projects — Owensboro, Kentucky, Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Gainesville, Georgia.    Read the full article here: Sioux City Journal

Omaha is on the move:

10-28-15 Omaha Building

Thompson Electric in Omaha is on the move.  Having out grown their existing facility, they had the need for more office space, as well as, more prefabrication space.  The search was on to find a building that would support both those needs.  After an extensive search, an existing building was found, in Omaha which will provide the much needed space.  The new location will provide an additional 9,000 sq. ft. of space, as well as, an easier location to find.

The new space is needed as a result of growth in the Omaha office.  The Omaha office has seen significant growth the last couple of years and is planning on continuing this growth.  As this growth continues, more office and field staff will be required, as well as, a larger prefab shop.

This is an exciting time for Thompson Electric, as we continue to grow.  Our employees are a big reason why we have this growth, by developing relationships and then performing excellent work for our clients.  Team work is what generates this growth and Thompson Electric has a great team.
